Booking your driving test?

Beware that there are website out there that are charging you massive fees to book your driving tests. Sometimes it can be £20 or £30 more than you should be paying. Don't use these sites.

Don't pay any extra for your theory and practical test bookings - make sure you always use the official Directgov website.

Booking with Directgov guarantees a service that you can trust, and it will always be cheaper than a third party booking service.

DSA recommends all car and motorcycle test bookings are made via the official Directgov website.

Changes To The Driving Test From October 2010

Independent driving will become part of the practical driving test in Great Britain in October 2010.

It's tasking the candidate to drive for about 10 minutes, either following a series of directions, following traffic signs, or a combination of both.

Observer On Driving Test

From Tuesday 6 April driving examiners will ask candidates if they would like their instructor (or another observer - preferably the person who has taught them to drive) to sit in on their car test and listen to the feedback at the end. However, it is purely the candidate's choice.

Driving Instructor Training

With realistic earnings of £25,000 to £30,000 per year depending on the hours you wish to work this is a very rewarding career. Train with Solo(uk) and you are garanteed to get the best quality training in the Northeast at the lowest prices available. We only give one to one training with no car sharing thereby giving you the best chance of passing your Driving Instructor Exams.

No previous teaching experience is required and you do not need any formal qualifications to become a driving instructor. You do need to have held a Full UK Driving Licence for a minimum of three and a half years before being able to apply. Any points on your licence do not necessarily exclude you, but they will be taken into consideration by the DSA before you are accepted. You will also need to provide a criminal records check to prove you are a fit and proper person.(this will be included in your starter pack which is provided by us. All being well this can take upto 6 to 8 weeks for your application to be accepted. No fees will be required by us until your application has been accepted.

Before you begin this process our DSA ORDIT inspected trainer will meet with you to answer any questions you may have and help you with the application process.
